Make a Connection and Make Someone Smile!

Mike Mayfield
Interactive Marketing Manager, Branding and Content
In today's world, we are all increasingly time-starved and geographically dispersed from the people we care most about -but we still have an intrinsic need to connect.  It's a human need that when properly fulfilled, can elevate the spirit and revitalize the human condition.  Although advances in technology like social networking sites have revolutionized the way we connect with one another, the connections often have little meaning.

But we believe our products can help bridge this gap.  The Kodak brand has always been about helping people strengthen relationships and sharing memories through the power of photography.  Our broad range of products help deliver on this promise in many different ways.  From cameras and digital video cameras, to frames, printers, photobooks, and kiosk gift products, there are many different ways Kodak can help connect people and make them smile - whether they are in the same house, down the street, or halfway across the world.

To show the many different ways memories can be shared with the help of Kodak products, check out the new Experience Kodak site.  It's a new interactive experience that let's you see how a moment can be captured and shared with the help of a wide array of Kodak products.  You'll see a grid with 9 characters.  Click on one to see how a moment is captured.  Then, click on one of the 4 arrows at the end of the scene to see how the moment is shared with another character and the Kodak product they use.  After a few passes of the memory through a few Kodak product uses, you'll complete the scene - and make your character smile!    (If you explore all 9 characters, you'll see a nice little surprise at the end too.)

And as we head into the holidays, keep an eye out for some our TV commercials that talk about these products too.

Here's one that spotlights KODAK Gallery Photobooks.

This one shows our new S730 frame - a great gift!

Sure to be a hot item this holiday, this is one for our Zi8 pocket video camera.

You can see more of these on our YouTube brand channel.  It really is Time to Smile!

Comment: It's good to see that Kodak is investing in ads again. The S730 digital frame TV spot shows the black version of this product, which is what we sell in Europe. We sell only a shiraz colored version of the S730 frame in the Americas.

Comment: My name is Nichelle Council and I am representing my son Jeremiah Council, who is 18 years of age. He is an inspiring artist/music producer/rapper, his stage name is 'Oktiv' or 'JCounts'. He produced a song called "Take A Pose". In this song he represents/mentions Kodak. He also performed this song at the Apollo in the Spring of 2009. I think my son's song would be a great asset to your company for commercial use.I think this song used in a commercial with Kodak would bring plenty of attention to the younger age group. Please listen to the song and let me know what you think. You may listen by going to myspace.com/oktivmadness or ourstage.com/profile/oktiv. He is also on Twitter and Facebook. Thank you for your time, Nichelle Council ndcouncil@aol.com
