What Do You Do with 10,000 Olympic Pins?!

Kodak is bidding farewell to its Olympic association after many great years. This however has surfaced an unintended consequence. Let me explain...
During this most recent games in Beijing I did a rather in-depth (and popular) post called; Twenty Years of Kodak Olympic Pins. Soon after this post went live I got a call from another Kodaker telling me that they had some extra pins in storage and wondered if I would like them. I said sure, I was sure to find a good home for them. Guess what? There were 10,000 pins!! All the same design! And they were from the 2004 Games in Athens!
Here is what they look like:

Our normally very creative band of people here in the office have come up short on ideas for what to do with these. Here are some of their suggestions:
- Create a unique sculpture?
- Place them face down at the exit of the parking lot with the warning "Severe tire damage, do not re-enter!"
- Come up with an over the top photo project for our Tips & Project Center
- Use them to hang 2,500 pictures on various bulletin boards? (Do the math, it works.)
- Place them in a time capsule for some future civilization? (I can envision the analysis now, "Obviously this was some sort of precious currency for this civilization.")
- Give one to each of the developers of the first 10,000 i-Phone apps.
The ideas just weren't coming. If a picture is worth a thousand words 10,000 Olympic pins have to be worth something to someone! That is where you come in - let us know what you think we should do. We welcome all suggestions. As evidenced by the list above we need help.
I am counting on you!

Comment: I would use some for my bulletion board at work and home also I wuld keep some my mother loves athens she visited in the 80s also I would take some for the homeless shelter I work and volunteer to do arts and crafts for the youth . That would be my suggestion for them I also think that next time before spending the money for those things they should invest wisely in things that could be productive and can help and serve a purpose its a waste of money and after all said and sone consider me if you decide to give them away hope the suggestion is beneficial. sicerely ana from california

Comment: I would quit asking stuping questions as Kodak does and find a way to make money off the pins so I could fund the cameras for Mariah & Kaver. Kodak is a big lie, a phony and a place I will make sure none of my friends never do business with again. Kodak is a low life and disgusting business that start things with wild life like they care and then all of the sudden use lies to say they have to stop what they are doing. I absolutely hate liars and that is what Kodak has done. I cannot say enough to show my dislike of Kodak. Now Kodak has some idiot smiling and saying what would you do with the pins. I would stick them in the decision making people of Kodak.

Comment: Well, since the pins are from Athens, I might create a sculpture of the Parthanon, or perhaps donate them to a worthy charity (they are all suffering in this declining economy), so that they could sell them at their thrift store and reap the benefits.
If you ask me.....and you kind of did....I would suggest donating them to the Birds of Prey Foundation in Boulder County Colorado. The website is www.birds-of-prey.org They are an amazing organization that rehabilitates our majestic birds so that they may fly free on mended wings.
Just a thought. Good luck with your choice.

Comment: There are artist out there that can make incredible picture artwork with pennies and noodles so why not make artwork of the 2004 Olympics with the 10,000 pins. I'm sure it would look amazing. I think I saw these artis on the tonights show. If you use this idea I would love to see the end results. Good Luck.

Comment: Find a charity. Partner with them. Sell the pins online and donate the profits to that charity. Problem solved + good karma to boot (and maybe even some great PR to boot.) ;)

Comment: sell them on ebay, someone, somewhere, will just have to have them.

Comment: Donate them to a reality show like "Runway" or "Design Challenge" so they can make clothing out of them! I bet you could also sell them for $10/pin if the proceeds were going to charity.
